Patience and Solidarity Key To Reaching Agreement with Raley’s; Hard Deadline of July 10th Set for Save Mart

Over the last several weeks, we have been focused on separate negotiations with Save Mart and Safeway stores in an attempt to reach agreements on behalf of our members at those companies. As of today, there are no new agreements.

jacques-loveallIn the meantime, many of you have asked why, in light of our overwhelming strike vote, we have not taken action against Raley’s. The answer is simple: your contract is in effect and you continue to enjoy the highest wages, the best health care plan and one of the highest pension contributions in our entire UFCW International Union. To put it simply, time is on our side.

However, in recent days in some areas, your employer has once again distributed its anti-union propaganda campaign and threatened to implement a final offer without your approval.

While this may be more posturing and empty rhetoric, we must be prepared for immediate action if need be. We will soon assemble picket captains to discuss important issues including picket line coverage, strike benefits, Teamster and other union support and legal rights, among other things.

Please be on the alert for future updates and visit YourBreadAndButter.com regularly.

Thank you for your patience and for your ongoing and inspiring support of your Union.

Together we will continue to prove, Solidarity Works!
