We are pleased to announce UFCW 8-Golden State has resolved the health and welfare provisions for members working at Save Mart.

It was necessary to secure all of our health and welfare improvement goals with Save Mart in order to match those agreed to in the tentative agreement between UFCW 8-Golden State and Safeway / Vons.

Successfully achieving these health and welfare provisions with Save Mart and Safeway / Vons assures the continued integrity of these health care plans.

Negotiations with Save Mart and UFCW 8-Golden State are ongoing through the weekend with a focus on resolving several issues including improved retirement benefits, wage increases and other contract language.

Once these issues are resolved, our goal is to ratify both company’s agreements simultaneously.
